Can you shortly introduce yourself and your role in the HyInHeat project?

I’m Mikko Jokinen, CEO of Luxmet.


How did LUXMET OY get involved in the HyInHeat project?

We are always on the lookout for future control applications of our spectrum analysis technology in high temperature industrial processes. We were originally introduced to this opportunity through our university contacts.

How do you see the added value of HyInHeat for LUXMET OY?

Hydrogen has a central role in the future of Green Steelmaking. We want to bring the benefits of our technology to speed up the transition from fossil fuels to hydrogen.

What is the role of LUXMET OY in the HyInHeat project?

Luxmet will develop Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES) technology for hydrogen burner diagnostics and control. The technology will be demonstrated in use cases for aluminum and steel production.

What do you hope to achieve by the end of the project?

Luxmet provides OES-technology solutions for high temperature metallurgical processes with a focus on real-time process control. By the end of this project, our solution will have been tested with hydrogen burners flames both in the laboratory and in industry for aluminum and steel production, laying the foundation for future industrial applications.
