About HyInHeat
HyInHeat is a European funded project that aims to integrate hydrogen as a fuel for high-temperature heating processes in energy-intensive industries, particularly in the aluminium and steel sectors. The project seeks to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from these sectors by implementing efficient hydrogen combustion systems that cover almost their entire process chains.
The impact and outcomes
The project aims to contribute to the decarbonization of energy-intensive industries by integrating hydrogen as a fuel for high-temperature heating processes. The project’s outcomes are expected to lead to reduced carbon dioxide emissions, increased energy efficiency, and cost competitiveness.
The project also prioritizes the sustainability of critical production processes, refractory lining, and NOx emissions in hydrogen combustion off-gas.
